For those that have been following my site, you may have noticed I haven’t really been posting much about what I have been doing lately… If you are friends with me on FB(www.facebook.com/bodybycandice), then you may have noticed some postings here and there that may have caught your interest. If you are in my HCG support groups(Local HCG, HCG Diet 800 Calorie Protocol, and Beyond HCG), then you know more of what I have been up to, but now, time for the full story!
About 2 months ago, I had the great fortune of meeting Sonia Russell through Facebook(there’s a whole story to this that I will have to tell another day . She is an LPN out of Florida that has worked in a clinical weight loss setting for over 3 years. She, herself did the 500 calorie protocol with great results, but knew there was something amiss. Her and her team of doctors went to work to improve and maximize Dr. Simeon’s Original Protocol for safer and healthier results. In their work, they developed “The Best Diet You Have Never Heard Of.” This is the medical version that is now being implemented in more and more clinical settings by doctors. All of her work had been based around the Rx injections, but she was getting more and more inquiries about Homeopathic HCG(HHCG). She was also seeing the same results in HHCG as she was her Rx patients. It was this that caught her eye, and lead her to write her own version of “The Best Diet You Have Never Heard Of” called, “HCG Diet 800 Calorie Protocol,” geared towards HHCGers. She realized that many HHCGers had no medical supervision, and wanted to reach out to them to provide as much help in a safe and effective way.
Everyone knows that the biggest scrutiny with the Dr. Simeon’s original, is the 500 calories. Anyone can lose weight eating just 500 calories. But there is so much more to it than just that(I won’t get into this controversy, because I have already written extensively on my site, but you are welcome to read my archives). The HCG diet has been very controversial over the last 50+ years, yet it keeps coming back, and it keeps providing results when done correctly. This is something that can’t be ignored, yet the medical community will not consider a 500 calorie diet, but 800… this is where the controversy within controversy comes in.
A lot of HCGers have the mentality, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” but what if something isn’t broken, but there is a way to make it better? Look at all of our advancements with technology… what version is the iphone up to now? The ipad? Look at how much our research abilities have changed. It is changing exponentially. Yes, Dr. Simeon’s spent years extensively researching the HCG+diet for weight loss, and wrote his protocol for optimal results, but a lot has changed in 60 years! Research and studies have proven that breakfast is a must for a healthy metabolism. By not eating breakfast, you increase your risk for obesity by 430%!!! It’s little changes like this, that can actually produce big results! Sonia and her team have done the research as well, and have been able to produce results. This is what I first wanted to know when I met her; “Does it work? What have your results been?” She explained, and I listened.
So, why not be open minded? I know I was! When Sonia first told me about her 800 protocol and the results, I knew I needed to learn and understand more, and to know for myself. It actually answered a lot of the concerns I had had with the 500 all along. So, after learning about the 800, I made a decision. I had to try it. No outside influence, what so ever. But there was a catch… I was already at a healthy weight and maintaining comfortably. I dug through all my old HCG tracking sheets I had kept over my previous rounds. My last round that I had completed after the holidays, my starting weight was at 161. I wanted to be able to compare the two rounds pound for pound. So, over the next couple of weeks, I purposely bumped my calories up to start gaining. I didn’t want to feel sick, bloated, or out of control or let my “fat girl” lose, so I still ate fairly clean, with occasional treats, and still worked out. After about 6 weeks, I was back up to 160 and 21-22% body fat. Time to start my next experiment!
There were 3 main things I wanted to know with this experiment. 1: Will the 800 work just as well as the 500, and how will I feel, what differences will I notice. 2: Shakeology+HCG. I’ve had a lot of people ask me if Shakeology can be used while in phase 2. It is awesome for phase 3 and 4, and that is what I had used it for and had great results in keeping my weight stable, but for phase 2, wasn’t sure. I didn’t see why not, but didn’t want to promote it without knowing for myself. 3: How low can I possibly get with the 800 – I’ve always said I didn’t think HCG was worth it for those last “10-15lbs,” but I have seen people do it, so I was curious if I could do it with the 800, and see how low I can go.
June 24th and 25th were my load days. Before loading, I was 160.5, day two of loading – 168.3 – ahaha – this girl can eat! I was working an event all that day for ambulance, so had plenty of opportunity to enjoy. Day 1 Loading: bloated, headache and gross, but not too bad. Day 2: I made some homemade cookies, cleaned out a jar of Peanut Butter, and some other things, and we took the kids to Sizzler for our anniversary… I’m a dork and loaded up on the all you can eat salad bar, but I did have steak and sweet potatoes with ice cream and cobbler for dessert. Oh, and their new dinner rolls… I won’t even say how many of those I had. J I lost 3lbs! My starting weight 165.5 and 23.1% body fat. I remember in previous rounds, loading was fun! You get to be a glutinous pig for 2 days! I know my fat girl appreciated it! But I sure didn’t… I was soooo miserable on Sunday. Needless to say, after my first day of the 800, I was down to 159.9 lol… but here is the surprising part… I thought for sure I would gain the next day or at least stay the same, but I actually lost another 2lbs! I also thought after already being cleaned out from all that bad food that I wouldn’t of had anything left, but not the case! This kept up for the rest of the week!
By day 2, I recovered from loading, and had my routine down by day 3: Shakeology, supplements, and water for breakfast. Second fruit for morning snack. Protein/veggie/salad for lunch. 3rd fruit for afternoon snack. Protein/veggie/salad for dinner, and lots of water with either lemon juice and plain stevia, or water with orange Valencia stevia. Still losing! I am now on day 21 of the 800+Shakeology protocol, and have made some very interesting observations, but as you can see, I have already written quite a bit, and don’t want to make this a novel(yet…), so stay tuned for part 2 to come very soon!
